Example Hole Analysis
Here, our data uncovered a way to save £2,000 - £3,000 per year in maintenance while improving pace of play by ~2 minutes for a single hole.
Playability and hole strategy was improved, all while reducing the total area of fairway by approximately 8%.
Example Data
Monitoring Foot Traffic & Reducing Maintenance
We identified major problems in the walking routes of golfers. The placement of a greenside bunker pushed traffic into a small area at the front of the green, thus contributing to poor turf health and outbreaks of disease. It also increased pace of play significantly.
We identified a way to improve the health of this turf, reduce pace of play and save more than £1,000 per year in maintenance costs without impacting the strategy or playability of the hole.
Safety Margin Analysis
In this example, we documented how often golfers hit onto an adjacent fairway. The findings were shocking; 15% of golfers were hitting onto the wrong hole - a significant safety issue.
We further analysed the type of golfers most likely to do this; by their age, gender, handicap and tees used. We also analysed the structure and strategy of the hole and suggested changes to reduce these safety problems.
